The Women's Fellowship of the Cabool Church of the Brethren is called "The Daughters of Shalom". They are committed to compassionate work, caring for each other and others in the community. An example of this caring can be delivering meals to a sister who is ill or making baby blankets for local agencies. The Daughters also choose a yearly kit project to make for The Festival of Sharing or Church World Service. Other activities include serving meals to groups meeting in the Fellowship Hall or raising funds for local outreach , or funding for maintaining the church building, especially the kitchen.
The women meet the second Wednesday of each month beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The Officers are:
President, Louise Crosbie
Secretary, Carolyn Schrock
Treasurer, Carol Clary Pippen
Card and Flower Ministry. Lucille Colvin
Women Invited to Bring Kits to Retreat: The District Women’s Retreat theme for this year is “Plant and Tend CARE-fully” In addition to worship, sharing, and discussions, there is opportunity for all women to contribute to “Pillow Kits” for women at a local shelter for abused women of the Peace Valley area. Please join together with other women of your congregation and bring a complete kit or two or three . . . . .
Kits consist of: One regular pillow, a pillow case to fit it, a bath towel, and a wash cloth. Please tie the kit together with cord or ribbon. The shelter can always use laundry detergent as well. Bring along a jug of it if you can. See you March 27 & 28.
